Hi, mates! Instagram has officially released the Dark Mode feature for Android and iOS in October 8, 2019. That feature is maybe the most requested feature over the years. I don’t know why the development is taking pretty long. Yet, let’s celebrate the release of IG Dark Mode, yey! Then, you should know how to enable it on Android 10 and iOS13.

Dark Mode is not a theme on Instagram. It is working by your device’s system. So, the way to enable it is just turning on your dark or night mode of your system settings. Thus, the first step is (of course) updating your Instagram to the latest version.

Therefore you have to enable system-wide dark mode on iOS13. Go to Setting app, tap Display & Brightness, and tap Dark button. On the other hand, if you have Android 10 device, you have to enable system-wide dark mode on Android. Go to Setting app, tap Display, and tap Dark or Night Mode.

Wait for a minute, why my Instagram don’t change into Dark Mode though I already follow the steps above? Well, for some cases, you have to join Instagram Beta tester after you change the system settings. Open Google Play Store or Apple App Store, open Instagram, click Join Beta, install you beta version, then everything is set.

Well, I think you might be confused about the steps above. Then, let me summarize it only for you below.

Enable Dark Mode on Android 10

  1. Open your System Settings
  2. Scroll down to Display
  3. Activate Dark Theme mode on your System Settings
  4. Open your Instagram and it will change into Dark Mode

Enable Dark Mode on iOS13

  1. Open System Settings on your phone
  2. Select Display and Brightness
  3. Tap Dark to change the theme
  4. Open your Instagram and it will change into Dark Mode

When you enable Dark or Night Mode on your system settings, your Instagram will be automatically changed into Dark Mode without any further Instagram’s adjustment. Your applications that support Dark Mode will also be changed.

Unfortunately, not all Android and iOS versions support Dark Mode for now, like I said before that it is just for Android 10 and iOS13 for now. Maybe it will be available for all OS, just wait for it!
