As a music streaming platform, Spotify has some playlists to accompany you in various mood and situation. And now, Spotify releases Smog-Themed responding forest fires in Kalimantan. 

Smog disaster caused by the forest fires in Kalimantan affected Malaysia and Singapore made Spotify develop new theme about smog. This music platform is responding that the forest fires causing several countries. People there have to use masker to go out, they are suffering. Responding that, Spotify releases smog-themed playlist with the title ”Hazed and Confused”.

“Hazed and Confused” playlist is created to deliver public anxiety about respiratory diseases caused by smog. The description of the playlist is, “Haze is a strong word, but we really really really don’t like you.”

The ”Hazed and Confused” playlist firstly mentioned by the Digital Content Creator from Astro Radio Malaysia, Azlyn Balqis sharing the screenshot of that playlist by Twitter. She said, “Who did this, we need to talk (laughing emoji).”

There are 70 songs that you can listen relating to smog or fire. The song list is including No Air by Jordin Sparks feat Chris Brown, Fire Burning by Sean Kingston, Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5, We Didn’t Start the Fire by Billy Joel, and much more. Yet there are some songs which is a little irrelevant such as thank you, next by Ariana Grande. More than 11.000 users have followed that playlist.

On the other hand, based on AirVisual IQAir in 2018, Jakarta is on the list of cities with the highest levels of air pollution in Southeast Asia. Compared to other cities in Indonesia, Jakarta is also ranked first with a high level of pollution which have 160 AQI (Air Quality Index). That number is classified not healthy, OMG!
